Gissler & Pass boosts supply chain transparency with OMP for Packaging
Gissler & Pass, a German corrugated packaging and displays producer, has successfully implemented OMP for Packaging to improve its supply chain planning.
Gissler & Pass specializes in high-quality litho-laminated products and point-of-sales corrugated board packaging. The company was looking to introduce state-of-the-art planning processes to improve service levels and support production in all its production sites.
Besides process optimization, the packaging manufacturer aimed to increase transparency and visibility for better communication and responsiveness. They also wanted to enhance data quality through automated and real-time access to necessary data.
The Rodenberg site went live in 2017 with the basic functionality of OMP for Packaging, followed by the production sites of Lorsbeck and Jülich in 2018. Recently, more advanced functionalities have been implemented as well.
Manfred Schlapps and Thomas Gissler, CEO of Gissler & Pass, say: “OMP for Packaging allowed us to improve collaboration between different plants via integrated routings. We now have a clear view of our planning and production processes. Additionally, we managed to enhance the quality of our production data.”
Bart Verbruggen, Senior Business Development Manager at OMP, adds: “Thanks to a smooth collaboration between both project teams, we were able to tackle difficulties as one team and deliver an effective solution to plan Gissler & Pass’ complex product portfolio of corrugated packaging, offset printed & laminated boxes and point-of-sale display stands.”
