If we are to believe the loud messages on social media, AI has become the solution to all our problems. AI is certainly promising and will bring about many changes, but it is definitely not a panacea that can be applied indiscriminately everywhere. Failed projects and irresponsible use are lurking if it is not clear what type of AI we are talking about.

For the successful and responsible application of AI, it is essential to know what each type can and cannot (yet) do. Or as the great scientist and philosopher Goethe put it in the 18th century: “In limitation, the master reveals himself.”

In his keynote speech, Frans will discuss the ‘why, what and how’ of the different types of AI, delving deeper into the main limitations of each type and how to deal with them. He will do this based on theoretical insights that are explained in an accessible way using inspiring examples and appealing cases.

As we have come to expect from Frans, he will once again offer concrete tools for the successful and responsible use of AI in your organization. So the question, “Where can we start tomorrow?” will also be answered. Because one thing is certain: the opportunities offered by AI must be exploited in order to remain relevant!

In this talk, we will explore the topic of rolling origin forecast instability: what it is, why it matters, and how to address it effectively.

Rolling origin forecast instability refers to the variability in forecasts for a specific time period caused by updates made as new data becomes available over time. While these updates typically improve forecast quality because they are based on a shorter forecast horizon, they can also introduce instability, possibly leading to costly changes to plans formulated based on the forecasts. Furthermore, forecast instability may erode trust in the forecasting system, potentially prompting unwarranted judgmental adjustments by users.

We will discuss existing methodologies to improve forecast stability without compromising forecast quality, including approaches for both point and probabilistic forecasting. In deze context was het noodzakelijk om onze langetermijnplanning van vraag en aanbod te verbeteren en te beschikken over een duidelijk beslissingsplatform.

Samen met ASV Consult stelden we ons tot doel om S&OP op een pragmatische manier te implementeren als het ‘moederproces’ binnen Lutosa. Dankzij deze aanpak konden we het proces binnen vier maanden lanceren en in iets meer dan een jaar tijd stapsgewijs laten doorgroeien naar het beoogde maturiteitsniveau.

Tijdens deze sessie nemen we je mee in ons traject, delen we de belangrijkste lessen uit onze aanpak en kijken we vooruit naar de volgende stappen.

Krëfel heeft zijn logistieke planning geoptimaliseerd met de Supply Chain Portal van ICT Logistics, wat zorgt voor minder piekbelasting en een efficiëntere workflow.

In 2025 heeft Feeder One, in samenwerking met Vanas Engineering, zijn “small parts operatie” getransformeerd tot één geïntegreerd en geautomatiseerd totaalconcept.
Het verpakkingsproces, de opslag en het orderpicken werden samengebracht in één naadloze flow, waarbij producten onmiddellijk in de klantendoos worden gepickt, vervolgens automatisch op volume worden aangepast, gelabeld en gesorteerd.

Hoe schakel je een ERP-pakket in om het beheer van een natuurproduct met grillige dimensies te stroomlijnen, zonder je te verliezen in een onwerkbaar aantal referenties?

Om dit te realiseren implementeerde Arcwide de ERP-oplossing IFS Cloud bij Carrières du Hainaut, producent van Belgische blauwe hardsteen. In deze sessie deelt CEO Chris Vermorken hoe Carrières du Hainaut met deze oplossing een complexe productieomgeving succesvol transformeerde naar een volledig datagedreven werking. Van QR-codes in de groeve tot realtime inzicht in voorraad, kwaliteit en kosten, digitalisering bleek mogelijk zonder het karakter van het product te verliezen.

Een inspirerend verhaal over digitalisering in een sector waar geen twee producten hetzelfde zijn.

SMC besliste om voorraad gespreid over meerdere Europese landen te consolideren in één sterk geautomatiseerd centraal distributiecentrum in België. Naast de uitdaging van meer SKU's op één plaats en het onder controle houden van langere lead times naar de verschillende landen moest het project gerealiseerd worden in een operationeel draaiend DC, parallel aan de implementatie van een nieuw WMS.

Resultaat: SMC bedient nu heel Europa vanuit één hub met betere service, snellere levertijden, hogere beschikbaarheid, en de flexibiliteit om mee te groeien met vraag.

Specifieke aandacht voor de strategische overwegingen achter deze keuze, het voorkomen van stilstand tijdens de transformatie, en waarom deze nieuwe hub het verschil maakt tussen een logistiek project en een échte competitive advantage.

Zesenzestig vrachtwagens vol staal en kabels, onderweg van een verlaten magazijn in de buurt van Venetië naar Evergem, bij Gent. Voor velen leek het een riskant avontuur, maar voor BMS was het dé kans om hun logistiek een nieuwe toekomst te geven en voor E’Log een mooie opportuniteit om hun vakmanschap te demonstreren. “Dat krijgen we wel aan de praat,” klonk het vastberaden in het team.

Wat begon met een tweedehands installatie en flink wat vraagtekens, groeide zo uit tot een stabiele, schaalbare en efficiënte ASRS-oplossing. Geen prestigeproject, wel een systeem dat heel goed doet wat het moet doen. En dat dankzij de nauwe en transparante samenwerking tussen BMS en E’Log.

CLOVA is een industriële wasserij die dagelijks grote volumes linnen en (arbeids)kledij verwerkt en tijdig, correct en in de juiste hoeveelheden bij klanten moet terugbezorgen. Dat vraagt om een sterke supply chain over de volledige keten.

In de praktijk ontbrak transparantie tussen CLOVA, haar klanten en leveranciers. Voorraadposities waren onvoldoende zichtbaar, KPI’s weinig betrouwbaar en de planning was vooral gebaseerd op aannames en maximale dagvolumes in plaats van op reële vraag, wat leidde tot inefficiënties.

Samen met valueXstream werd vastgesteld dat de kernproblemen zich situeerden rond drie samenhangende domeinen: transport, de werking van de wasserij en de voorraden bij klanten. Zonder inzicht hierin was een betrouwbare planning onmogelijk.

De aanpak startte met voorraadtransparantie en analyse van klantvoorraden, aangevuld met gerichte controles waar afwijkingen werden vastgesteld. Parallel werd de wasserij doorgelicht op capaciteit, productiviteit en bezetting per waslijn. Zo kon de productieplanning afgestemd worden op de werkelijke vraag en de reële operationele mogelijkheden.

Met dit geïntegreerde inzicht evolueerde CLOVA naar datagedreven forecasting en een nauwere afstemming met klanten en leverancier. Het resultaat is één geïntegreerde planning over de volledige keten, met een efficiëntere operatie, betere samenwerking en meer voorspelbaarheid in de dagelijkse werking.

ODTH reshaped its conventional warehouse site in Rumst with a 3D shuttle‑driven setup powered by Movu Atlas and Movu OPS, while keeping the 24/7 operation running without customer impact.

Reinventing a traditional warehouse set-up and creating a real‑time, software‑orchestrated warehouse that will eventually handle up to 6,000 pallet movements a day and accommodate more than 31,000 pallet positions. Fraxinus brought the installation to life on the floor by integrating conveyors, lifts and cabling. The reuse of existing racks delivers an additional sustainability win of roughly 680 tons of CO₂ saved.

Flexso tied the full operation together, ensuring that warehouse execution, planning and data management function as one coherent, end‑to‑end process.
